Rates are Stabilizing
While interest rates have fluctuated over the years, we're finally seeing rates stabilize. Compared to the peaks of the last few years, today's rates are giving buyers a chance to lock in affordable, long-term mortgage payments. Lower interest rates mean saving thousands over the life of your loan, and buyers are taking advantage of this opportunity.
Inventory is Increasing
In addition, inventory is increasing. Over the past five years, potential sellers have held off listing their homes, leading to tight markets. But now, we see more homes hitting the market as confidence grows. According to the National Association of Realtors, the national inventory of homes is currently at 4.3 months of supply. As a buyer, that means you have more options to find the perfect home that fits your lifestyle and budget. This wasn't possible when inventory was at its lowest levels a few years back. In fact, new listings are up 4.9% from the previous year.
Home Values are Rising
Finally, over the past five years, home values have risen steadily. By purchasing now, you're setting yourself up to build equity as your home value continues to grow in the years to come.
